Hemenway & Barnes Names Gioia Perugini Director of Philanthropic Services and Andrea Richmond Associate Director of Family Office Services

Gioia Perugini directs the firm’s philanthropic advisory practice, and works with individuals, families, advisors, charitable trusts, and foundations to provide a range of philanthropic and family office services. During her 20+ years at Hemenway & Barnes, clients have come to rely on Gioia to design and implement charitable giving strategies, research particular charities, negotiate gifts of cash or tangible assets, and coordinate family meetings. Families often turn to Gioia for helping developing philanthropic strategies that engage multiple generations. An active member of the New England philanthropic community, Gioia also serves on the boards of The Brookline Community Foundation, Positive Tracks, and The Maine Philanthropy Center. Andrea Richmond began her career at Hemenway & Barnes in 2013 as a Trust Administrator, where she quickly developed a reputation for providing exceptional service to the Trustees and our clients. She moved to her current role in 2015 as Family Office Advisor. Andrea, who is a lawyer by training and is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, has worked with individuals, families, and private foundations. She has developed a niche, providing financial planning for multi-generational families and assisting young adults with financial responsibilities. Andrea has worked with the Travis Roy Foundation since 2014 and currently serves as the Foundation Advisor. She is also a member of the Philanthropy Massachusetts Program Committee, the Boston Bar Association JD Professionals Group, and The Philanthropy Connection, a women’s giving circle.
