Brad Bedingfield and Sarah Waelchli will present "Stretching While Secure: Estate Planning and Charitable Giving With Retirement Assets" as part of the Planned Giving Group of New England's Technical Tuesday programs on October 26, 2021.

About the Program

Passage of the SECURE Act in December 2019 required fundamental changes to how estate plans handle interests in retirement plans. Meanwhile, Congress is now threatening to make new changes affecting retirement assets. Sarah and Brad will discuss how current estate plans and charitable giving structures accommodate IRAs and other retirement assets, and how to adapt to new changes that may be coming.

About the Speakers

Sarah Waelchli and Brad Bedingfield are partners at Hemenway & Barnes LLP. Sarah is a member of the firm’s Private Client Practice Group and works with families at all generational levels to develop and implement estate planning strategies for all stages. Brad is Chair of the firm’s Nonprofit Practice Group and is a current member of the PGGNE Board.
