20th Travis Roy Foundation WIFFLE Ball Tournament
Hemenway & Barnes is proud to support the Travis Roy Foundation WIFFLE Ball Tournament on August 13-15, 2021 in Essex, VT. The Tournament, in its 20th and final year, hopes to raise $1 million to benefit people and families affected by spinal cord injuries.
The Foundation announced it will begin to wind down operations in 2022. Travis Roy started the Foundation after he was paralyzed in an ice hockey accident during college to help other quadriplegics and paraplegics. Travis requested that the Foundation transition its programs after his death, which occurred in October 2020.
To honor Travis and assist the Foundation with its fundraising goal, the Red Sox are hosting a WIFFLE Ball game at Fenway Park. “We are so grateful to the Red Sox and their fans,” said Arthur B. Page, chair of the Travis Roy Foundation Board of Trustees and a Hemenway & Barnes partner. “Travis built a grass roots effort to help others with spinal cord injuries, and the Red Sox have been a big part of his team since the beginning. He is still inspires us, and we’ll knock it out of the park during this final WIFFLE Ball tournament.”
The Boston Beef, which Art captains, will attempt to do Travis proud on the Little Fenway wiffle ball fields and in fundraising. Please visit www.travisroyfoundation.org for more information on the Tournament and the Travis Roy Foundation
