Hemenway & Barnes recognizes Raymond H. Young's exemplary career as he retires from the practice of law.
A graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School, Ray began practicing law in 1950. In 1964, he and his long time partner, Shirley D. Bayle, began Young & Bayle. After almost fifty years, Ray joined Hemenway & Barnes in 2013.
In his more than six decades of practicing law, Ray has made a distinct mark nationally and locally through his active role in probate and trust reform, including the enactment of the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code and the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code, and his work with the American Law Institute.
Ray has been a mentor to many of the firm's lawyers, always emphasizing the need to provide creative and effective service to clients and their families. We extend our very best wishes to Ray and his family and thank him for his dedication to his clients, colleagues and the trust and estate profession.
