Michael Puzo Welcomes Veterans to Hingham’s Observance of Veterans Day

November 11, 2024

On Monday, November 11th, Hemenway & Barnes partner and Hingham Town Moderator, Michael Puzo, presided at the town’s annual observance of Veterans Day. As it does each year, the ceremony started promptly at 11 AM, on the 11th day of the 11th month, following the tradition established in 1918, when the first Armistice Day took place, commemorating the signing of the Armistice and the end of World War I. The event saw over 250 townspeople in attendance, including Gold Star and Blue Star Families, and scores of veterans, joined by local and state officials, members of the Hingham High School Orchestra and student officers from the HHS Veterans Appreciation Club.

Michael is the third H&B partner to serve as Hingham Town Moderator. John Davis Long, one of the firm’s founders in 1863, held the office from 1873-1881, while Charles B. Barnes served as moderator from 1907-1929.

Thank you, Veterans
