Michael Porter to Present “Economic Presence in Sales and Income Taxes” at COST 50th Annual Meeting

Hemenway & Barnes counsel, Michael Porter, will present the “Economic Presence in Sales and Income Taxes” session at the Council on State Taxation (COST) 50th Annual Meeting on Friday, October 25, 2019. This session will compare and contrast the constitutional income tax nexus standards with the nexus standards for other tax types, the status of P.L. 86-272, the Multistate Tax Commission’s factor presence nexus standard, and state statutory differences.
The COST Annual Meeting presents an extensive program covering all types of state and local taxes that business taxpayers are confronted with today.
