On June 3, 2019, ClientEarth Chief Counsel Doug Ruley will lead a discussion on “Harnessing the Power of the Law Globally to Protect Wildlife, Natural Habitats and Oceans” co-hosted by Hemenway & Barnes Partner Nancy Dempze and ClientEarth US Board Member Chris Kaneb.

About the Program

Climate and nature are inextricably linked; to resolve our civilization's climate crisis, we must protect and restore nature and wildlife. ClientEarth is at the forefront of the movement to preserve global ecosystems: from our work with China's Ministry of Environment to organize the 2020 Beijing Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biodiversity, to our protection of the primeval Bialowieza Forest in Poland and our legal cases that defend Marine Protected Areas.

At ClientEarth, our international team of lawyers, qualified to defend the environment in myriad legal systems, work with in-country partners, harnessing the power of local and international laws to conserve nature. We are keen to build our international network and explore partnerships further globally, to together build a global alliance that furthers our joint cause of protecting the environment.

During this discussion, Doug will address some of our world's most pressing natural crises, and how ClientEarth is working to solve them
