Brad Bedingfield will present at The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) 2017 New England Meeting

Lenox, MA

Brad Bedingfield and Carolyn Reers will provide a high level overview of key tax and reporting rules applicable to international families, in particular those straddling the U.S. – Canadian border. After surveying the rules applicable to U.S. non-residents and dual citizens, they will provide examples of how these rules would apply in different scenarios, with a particular focus on application of the U.S. – Canadian tax treaty. Carolyn and Brad will highlight certain unexpected pitfalls that arise when planning for international families and will discuss how to avoid common mistakes in cross-border planning.
