Hemenway & Barnes partner and chair of the Nonprofit Group, Brad Bedingfield, presented an ACTEC Trust & Estate Talk podcast “The Accidental Private Foundation: Non-Exempt Charitable Trusts Under Section 4947,” on May 24, 2022. Brad is also an ACTEC Fellow and a member of the Board of Regents of ACTEC.

In this podcast, Brad speaks about the consequences of the treatment of nonexempt charitable trusts under Section 4947(a)(1), how to avoid or manage those tax consequences and treatment, and planning pointers connected with a non-exempt charitable trust.

The ACTEC Trust and Estate Talk podcast series was created for wealth and estate management professionals by the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and funded by the ACTEC Foundation.
