2016 Summer Meeting, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, featured speakers Stephen Kidder, Nancy Dempze and Michael Puzo

6/16/2016 - 6/19/2016

Hemenway & Barnes partners Stephen Kidder, Nancy Dempze and Michael Puzo were featured speakers at this year’s Summer Meeting of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. ACTEC is the nation’s premier association of lawyers who practice in the trusts and estates area, including estate planning and trust and estate administration.

On Friday, June 17, Steve and Mike presented a program on the renowned will of Isabella Stewart Gardner at the Gardner Museum, where Steve serves as President of the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Gardner’s commitment to establish “a Museum for the education and enjoyment of the public forever” is integral to her will, which Steve and Mike reviewed with ACTEC fellows and their guests, after the group had enjoyed a private tour of the museum.

On Saturday, June 18, Nancy and Mike were two of four panelists who addressed over three hundred ACTEC fellows on the role of the lawyer/trustee generally and the integral part that trust management and private trustee service plays at Hemenway & Barnes and at Hemenway Trust Company.
