Prior to joining Hemenway & Barnes, Mr. Porter led Deloitte’s Multistate Tax Practice in Boston and worked with the firm’s Washington National Tax Office. Mr. Bedingfield assists private foundations and public charities with navigating complex tax regulations and procedures. His experience includes formation, fundraising, partnerships, terminations, and development of planned giving programs. He also advises private clients on securing their long-term goals related to preserving and protecting their wealth and executing their philanthropic endeavors

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Bedingfield was in academia and has a doctorate in English language and literature.

“Mike and Brad will provide clients with sophisticated tax planning services. Mike’s experience at the DOR and in large accounting firms will help our individual, nonprofit and business clients avoid pitfalls and resolve complicated tax disputes. And Brad’s experience at the IRS and in private practice will help guide tax exempt and private clients through the complicated world of tax regulations,” said Kurt Somerville, managing partner at Hemenway & Barnes. “Continuing H&B’s tradition of collaboration that has thrived for more than 150 years, we are fortunate to have Mike and Brad on our team.”
